Pediatrics Opportunity in Erie, PA – Job 1919

We are currently working with Pennsylvania International Academy they are seeking coverage ASA. PIA assists refugees and immigrants and provides refugees and immigrants with the tools and opportunities they need to become self-sufficient, contributing members of the community. They are also in the process of becoming a Certified Welcoming city – the highest designation reserved for cities and counties that meet rigorous requirements defining what it means to be a welcoming community.

The Pennsylvania International Academy is expecting at least 150 migrant children ranging in ages of five to twelve. The children will go through screening by a team of physicians upon arrival at the academy when the children arrive, they will be screened and anybody that needs medical attention will get it. These children were originally detained at the U.S.-Mexico border and are now more than 1,600 miles from the family members they left behind. Six children were assigned to each room in the 648-capacity dormitory, as more children are expected in the future.
You will be caring for the children until they are either released to a sponsor or transferred to an Office of Refugee Resettlement shelter for longer-term care.
